Hélène's addresses in Morocco

Last January, Hélène the founder of Minois flew away for a few sunny days in Morocco. Nestled in the heart of the Medina of Marrakech or settled in between heaven and earth in the majestic desert of Agafay, we share with you its most beautiful addresses, tested and approved, to a lovely escape with your family.

The hotels

Scarabeo Camp
Unbleached tents, designed as spacious and comfortable suites, set in the lunar desert of Agafay with an impressive view over the Atlas mountains. A magical journey, out of time, which offers when night falls, one of the most beautiful starry skies.

Riad 42 :
In the heart of the Medina, this guest house nestled in a traditional Moroccan house, restored and decorated in simplicity and sobriety by a Franco-Belgian couple, is the ideal place to put down your suitcases and go exploring the historic center and the Medina of Marrakech. Or even quite simply to enjoy the calm by the swimming pool (to the delight of the children), away from the hum of the Medina.

Berber Lodge :
Less than 30 minutes from Marrakech, where the landscape is more arid, more raw, there are small hidden terracotta houses, created by Romain Michel Ménière of Studio KO and inspired by traditional Berber villages. A unique address like a refuge, where the decoration combines local craftshit - rattan furniture, Berber rugs, straw hanging - with more contemporary pieces hunted around the world . And as a backdrop, the sun-swept plains of the Atlas.

The restaurants

La Famille Marrakech
Very close to the Jemaa El Fna place, this restaurant and its pretty shaded garden are a real haven of peace. Stéphanie Giribone offers vegetarian and gourmet cuisine made from local products, ideal for a lunch under the shade of lemon trees. You can also shop there a selection of items carefully chosen by Stéphanie. A must!

Plus61 :
In the district of Guéliz, this restaurant was imagined as a fusion between Morocco and Australia. Cassandra, the Australian chef, offers a cuisine inspired by Australia and its mix of cultures, combining the flavors of the Mediterranean, the Middle East and South Asia, using products from farms around Marrakech. Perfect for a well-deserved lunch after visiting the Majorelle Garden or the Yves Saint-Laurent museum.

Le Jardin :
In this riad dating from the 1960s is hidden one of the most legendary restaurants of the Medina. We love it as much for its decoration and its incredible Zelliges as for its cuisine combining the flavors of Morocco and Europe. An oasis of freshness and calm, in the heart of Marrakech, where you can happily sit down with your family!

Café des épices :
In the heart of the souks, we climb the steps of this small terracotta house to access the rooftop and cool off with a homemade lemonade accompanied by small sandwiches or tapas, while enjoying the breathtaking view of the vibrant Place des Epices. The ideal place to observe the souk merchants and take the pulse of the city.

Patisserie Amandine :
Impossible to come to Marrakech without tasting the mythical oriental pastries and the best pastry shop in Marrakech is called Amandine! We admit that we fell in love with gazelle horns.

To visit

The Majorelle Garden :
A trip to Marrakech would not be complete without a visit to the Majorelle Garden. At the heart of this lush garden made of 300 species of exotic plants nestles the cubic-style villa, created by artist Jacques Majorelle and known for its deep blue walls. A walk like an enchanted journey that will appeal to young and old alike.

Yves Saint-Laurent Museum :
Near the Majorelle Garden, this impressive building, imagined and designed by Studio Ko, houses the work of Yves Saint-Laurent. A museum that can be visited as a journey to the heart of the inspirations of the couturier, of which Marrakech was one of the best known.

The Lalla store :
We love the joyful and elegant universe of the Lalla bag brand, founded by Laetitia Trouillet - we told you about it here - so we take advantage of a visit to Marrakech to discover its pretty shop and why not bring a nice souvenir home !
